Confidentiality
The NRLEA understands that it is important for law enforcement officers and their families that are assigned out of their cities or general areas usually being assigned to task forces or teaching or other areas of involvement that cause them to be away from their main home for quite a while.
Most States do not have laws that allow out-of-state officers to take advantage of their privacy and personal protection by allowing them to register their (temporary or other) place of residence as confidential. This practice of not recognizing law enforcement officers from other States when they are working in another for various reasons needs to be addressed.
The privacy and confidentiality of all officers who are sworn to protect and defend needs to be upheld no matter what State they are in when crossing lines in the line of duty. The NRLEA supports a Bill that will allow this on all State levels including any House and/or Senate Bill.
